ON THURSDAY, THE 9TH OF OCTOBER THE PLENARY MEETINGS OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION WERE HELD.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Arseniy Yatseniuk announced that he received the order of the President of Ukraine "On the Pre-Termed Ceasing of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation Authority". "There is an order, now the pre-termed elections should be held", - he declared.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that the elections should be clear, democratic and financed.
A. Yatseniuk stated that the People´s Deputies should adopt the certain acts of the law in order the results of the voting are not appealed. He announced that the laws were working out yesterday.
A. Yatseniuk asked the chairmen of the factions for the meeting.
After the break the First Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Lavrynovych announced that the work of the factions on the formation of the agenda are not finished yet and closed the morning meeting.
At 16.00 the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, A. Yatseniuk informed the People´s Deputies on the issues for consideration, suggested by some leaders of the factions the bill on amendments to the Law "On the Elections of the People´s Deputies of Ukraine" and the bill on amendments to the Law "On the State Budget of Ukraine for the Year 2008 and to certain legitimate acts".
The Chairman announced the propositions of the Central Election Committee regarding the allocations for the pre-termed election the sum of 417mln grn.
After the voting the bill on amendments to the Law "On the Elections of the People´s Deputies of Ukraine" was included into the agenda by 226 votes.
The Chairman gave the floor to the author of the bill, the People´s Deputy, Olena Lukash.
During the announcement of the bill for the discussion the Deputies from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc have blocked the presidium and tribune.
The Chairman announced the break.
After the break A. Yatseniuk declared that the situation is clear: if there is no law there are no elections. The elections might be held without the law, in such a case they will be announced illegal by the all courts, - he stressed. According to the Chairman, to solve the problem on the amendments to the law regarding the pre-termed elections, all the political powers, the leaders of the country should be involved in the process.
A. Yatseniuk asked the leaders of the factions for the discussion and announced the evening meeting closed.
